TikTok AI video checker: is this TikTok real or AI?
TikTok is full of AI clips made to go viral: talking animals, fake disasters, impossible stunts. Paste the link and check it in under a minute.
How to check a TikTok video
- 1Tap Share (the arrow) on the video.
- 2Tap “Copy link”.
- 3Paste it above and choose a scan.
Good to know about TikTok videos
- TikTok labels some AI-generated videos, including some that carry Content Credentials from other AI tools. Many AI clips still have no label.
- TikTok re-encodes uploads, which removes most file metadata. The motion and frame checks don't depend on it.
How often it's right
- of 601 AI videos flagged in an independent test
- 97%
- of 84 real videos passed
- 96%
- each clip tested as published, WhatsApp-quality, 360p and heavily compressed
- 4×
No detector is 100% sure, so every answer comes with its reasons, and an honest “not conclusive” when the signals don't agree. Full results (measured 2026-10-10).
Questions
- Does TikTok's own watermark affect the result?
- No. Our watermark check looks for AI tools' marks (Sora, Veo, Kling, Hailuo and others), not TikTok's logo.
- What if the video was downloaded and re-uploaded?
- Re-uploads lose quality, which makes every detector's job harder. Every test clip behind our numbers was also checked as compressed copies, and the result says when it can't tell.
