An AI video detector on your phone, no app store needed

Install Video Verifier from your browser on Android and share WhatsApp, Instagram or YouTube videos straight to it. On iPhone, add it to your Home Screen.

You don't need to download anything from an app store to check videos on your phone. Video Verifier runs in your phone's browser, and on Android you can install it as an app in a few taps. Once installed, it appears in the share menu of WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube, so you can send a video to it directly. On iPhone, you can add it to your Home Screen and paste links or upload saved videos.

Here's how to set it up on each kind of phone, and how to check a WhatsApp video in a couple of taps.

Why a web app instead of a store app

An installed web app is the same website, opened in its own window with its own icon. That has a few practical advantages:

  • Nothing to update. You always get the latest version of the checks when you open it.
  • Little storage used. There's no big download.
  • One version for every device. The same page works on Android, iPhone and a computer.

On Android: install it

  1. Open crackly-ai.com in Chrome.
  2. If the home page shows an Install the app button, tap it. It only appears where the browser supports installing.
  3. If you don't see the button, open Chrome's menu (the three dots at the top right) and look for Install app or Add to home screen. The wording depends on your Chrome version.
  4. Confirm. A Video Verifier icon appears on your home screen and in your app list.

Other Android browsers based on Chrome may offer the same option in their menu.

On Android: check a WhatsApp video in two taps

This is the main reason to install it.

  1. In WhatsApp, long-press the video in the chat and tap the share icon, or open the video and look for Share (it may be in the menu).
  2. Choose Video Verifier from the list of apps.
  3. The video lands in the scan form. Start the scan.

It works the same way from Instagram and YouTube: tap Share on a Reel or video and choose Video Verifier. From those apps the link is usually passed rather than the file, and the scan fetches the video from the link.

A few limits to know:

  • Uploads can be MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 50 MB and 10 minutes long.
  • Videos from private accounts can't be fetched by link. Save the video or screen-record it, then share or upload the file.

On iPhone: add it to your Home Screen

  1. Open crackly-ai.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button. Depending on your iOS version and Safari layout, it may be inside the page menu.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you see an Open as Web App switch, leave it on.
  4. Tap Add.

At the time of writing, iPhones don't let web apps appear in other apps' share menus, so the two-tap sharing above is Android-only. On iPhone:

  • For links (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook and many more): copy the link from the app's share menu, open Video Verifier and paste it.
  • For WhatsApp videos: save the video to Photos first, then open Video Verifier and upload it from your Photos.

What happens when you scan

A Quick Scan is free to try, needs no sign-up, and gives an answer in under a minute for most videos. You get a headline such as "92% AI" or "88% Real" with a plain answer like "Most likely AI-generated", followed by the reasons: what each check found, and the moments in the video behind it.

Here's a result from our test set that shows why this matters on a phone. Below is a frame from a clip of a woman in sunglasses taking a selfie, made with Google Veo. Selfie-style clips imitate the phone footage we trust most, and on a small screen they're hard to judge. Our video model scored it 99% AI.

If the video really matters, a Deep Scan checks every second of picture and the whole soundtrack, with a full report and a PDF. Our guide to Quick Scan vs Deep Scan explains the difference.

Sharing the answer back to the group

Every result has a share link. Paste it into the WhatsApp group where the video came from, so others can see the reasons rather than just your opinion. The share page shows the essentials of the result.

Uploaded files are deleted automatically within 24 hours. The report stays so the share link keeps working.

Quick answers

Is there a Video Verifier app in the Play Store or App Store?

Not at the time of writing. You install it from the website instead, which takes a few taps on Android. On iPhone you can add it to your Home Screen.

Does it work without installing?

Yes. Open the home page in any browser, paste a link or upload a file. Installing just makes it quicker, and on Android it adds the share option.

Why doesn't it show up in my share menu?

On Android, check that you installed it rather than just bookmarking it, and try again after opening it once. On iPhone, sharing straight into web apps isn't supported at the time of writing, so copy the link or save the video and upload it.
