Is this video real? Check it in under a minute
Before you forward it, check it. Real footage, an AI-made clip and a real video with an AI voice can look the same on a phone screen. Our checks read the picture, the sound and the post itself to tell them apart.
Three questions to ask about any viral video
- Is it AI-made? Paste it above: our checks look at the motion, the frames, the voice and any AI labels.
- Is it old? Many “breaking” videos are real but years old or from another country. For links, we look up published fact-checks of the claim.
- Is it edited? A real clip with a new voice-over is still misleading. Deep Scan checks the voice separately from the picture.
Before you share
- Look for the original: search the post's words and find who posted it first.
- Check the details against the claim: signs, language, weather and number plates should all fit.
- Send the report, not the rumour: share the result link so others see the reasons too.
What the answer means
You get the winning side as a percentage, like “85% Real” or “92% AI”, a plain answer such as “Most likely AI-generated”, and the reasons with timestamps. It's evidence to weigh, not a final verdict.
How often it's right
- of 601 AI videos flagged in an independent test
- 97%
- of 84 real videos passed
- 96%
- each clip tested as published, WhatsApp-quality, 360p and heavily compressed
- 4×
No detector is 100% sure, so every answer comes with its reasons, and an honest “not conclusive” when the signals don't agree. Full results (measured 2026-10-10).
Questions
- Can it check WhatsApp videos?
- Yes. Save the video from WhatsApp and upload it, or install our app and share the video straight to it. Forwards are heavily compressed, so a Deep Scan helps.
- What if the video is real but the story is false?
- That's common: real footage, wrong place or date. For links we search published fact-checks of the claim and show any we find. Our answer about the picture is separate from the story told about it.
- Is it free?
- Quick Scan is free to try, with no sign-up. Deep Scan, which checks every second of picture and sound and gives you the full report and a PDF, is a small one-time payment or part of a monthly plan.
