AI video checker by link: paste a link, get an answer
No need to download anything. Copy the post's link in the app, paste it here, and we fetch the video, check it, and read the post's caption and tags for AI labels, all in about a minute.
Links that work
- Instagram Reels and posts
- YouTube videos and Shorts
- TikTok videos
- X (Twitter) posts
- Facebook videos and Reels
- Reddit, Vimeo and 1,000+ more sites
When a link won't open
- Private accounts, Stories and posts behind a login can't be fetched: save or screen-record the video and upload the file.
- Deleted posts take their video with them: upload a copy you saved instead.
- Videos over 10 minutes are too long: trim the part you want checked and upload it.
What a link tells us that a file can't
The post itself: its caption and hashtags (like #sora or #aiart), the platform's own AI label where there is one, and the claim it makes, which we look up in published fact-checks.
How often it's right
- of 601 AI videos flagged in an independent test
- 97%
- of 84 real videos passed
- 96%
- each clip tested as published, WhatsApp-quality, 360p and heavily compressed
- 4×
No detector is 100% sure, so every answer comes with its reasons, and an honest “not conclusive” when the signals don't agree. Full results (measured 2026-10-10).
Questions
- Do I need to download the video first?
- No. For public posts the link is enough. For private ones, save the video and upload the file.
- Why did my link fail?
- Usually because the post is private, needs a login, or was deleted. Some sites also block automated downloads now and then; trying again a minute later, or uploading the file, solves most cases.
- Is it free?
- Quick Scan is free to try, with no sign-up. Deep Scan, which checks every second of picture and sound and gives you the full report and a PDF, is a small one-time payment or part of a monthly plan.
