AI or real? Check if a video is AI-generated, free
A viral clip, a forwarded video, something that looks a little too perfect. Paste its link or upload the file: our checks look at how it moves, what's inside each frame, the voice and any AI labels, then tell you which way the evidence points.
How to tell if a video is AI or real
- Paste the post's link (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook and 1,000+ other sites) or upload the video file.
- Pick Quick Scan for a fast first look, or Deep Scan to check every second of picture and sound.
- Read the answer, then the reasons: each one points to a moment in the video you can check yourself.
What gives AI video away
- Motion that drifts: hands, faces and objects that subtly change shape from one frame to the next.
- Detail that's too clean: skin, hair and backgrounds with the smooth, painted look of image generators.
- Voices that sound right but breathe wrong: cloned voices often lack natural pauses and room sound.
- Labels and watermarks: “Sora”, “Veo” or “AI生成” marks, Content Credentials, or #ai tags in the post.
When the answer is “not sure”
Short, blurry or heavily compressed clips carry less evidence. Rather than guess, the result says it can't tell and shows what it could and couldn't check. Try a Deep Scan, or find a longer or sharper copy of the same video.
How often it's right
- of 601 AI videos flagged in an independent test
- 97%
- of 84 real videos passed
- 96%
- each clip tested as published, WhatsApp-quality, 360p and heavily compressed
- 4×
No detector is 100% sure, so every answer comes with its reasons, and an honest “not conclusive” when the signals don't agree. Full results (measured 2026-10-10).
Questions
- Is it free?
- Quick Scan is free to try, with no sign-up. Deep Scan, which checks every second of picture and sound and gives you the full report and a PDF, is a small one-time payment or part of a monthly plan.
- Can any tool be 100% sure a video is AI or real?
- No. Every answer is an estimate built from evidence, shown with its reasons, and the result says “not conclusive” when the signals disagree.
- What happens to my video?
- Uploaded files and downloaded copies are used only for the check and deleted automatically within 24 hours. The report is kept so your result and share link keep working.
